The community center is envisioned as a resource for neighborhood residents of all ages and backgrounds, providing spaces for education, recreation, entertainment, socializing, and organization. The concept of the design - An urban retreat in downtown LA - leads to a fully underground construction in order to create a strong contrast with the fast-paced lifestyle in the metro city. It is a peaceful third place for the community to temporarily get away from their work, to relieve the stress, and to find breathability in both visuality and mentality.
